Michael Throne, who grew up in Hof, Bavaria, completed his training as a media designer for image and sound at a state broadcasting station with honours.

After studying digital media at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, he studied cinematography at the renowned Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, Ludwigsburg, until 2023 and took part in international exchange programmes in the USA (UCLA) and France (La Fémis).

He now lives in Hamburg. In recent years, he has worked on feature films, documentaries, animation films and VR projects and has been featured at national and international film festivals.
